Okay a lot of people have been asking me for this information.
It is far better for debugging comms than Hyperterminal. I constantly get asked if I know the Hyper Terminal commands for the Fire Control Instruments (FCI) E3. In this post I have put down a few to get you guys started. I will try to get more and update this list as they are found. It has no support for dialing modems, BBS etc - that is what hyperterminal does. What I like best about it is that you can display the incoming stream in ASCII, Hex, or a mixture of both. The program also allows you to send out any Hex values that you specify and not only the 'printable' characters from the keyboard. And last but not least, the program is Freeware. On the browser, its up to the user to trigger their load by pressing command+R. Just thought I would share this with everyone.
We put the user in control of the loading in this way to prevent them from losing critical work by extensions that reset state or dont preserve it correctly. We give you the ability to provide a higher order component for every piece of the Hyper UI. Hopefully if people have other terminal programs that they like, they will share their experiences also.
